Thank you for your interest in aligning with Florida Training Academy (Acuity CPR), an authorized American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site.
We look forward to mentoring you and supporting your growth as an instructor. Your annual instructor affiliation fees help offset increased administrative costs, including the use of platforms like Enrollware.

✅ Please note: The AHA now only issues electronic certification cards (eCards). Physical cards are no longer available.

✅ Instructor Candidate Prerequisites

Instructor candidates must:

✅ Demonstrate instructor potential through excellent CPR skills and problem-solving
✅ Show strong communication skills and professionalism
✅ Follow directions and complete assigned tasks reliably
✅ Hold a current (unexpired) AHA Provider & Instructor Card for the discipline they wish to teach
✅ Agree to teach a minimum of two AHA classes per year
✅ Complete the AHA Instructor Candidate Application 

✅ Aligning With a Training Site or Center

After completing the BLS and/or Heartsaver Instructor Course, you must be aligned with an AHA Training Center (TC) or Training Site (TS) in order to purchase and issue certification cards.

If you are not already aligned, you may request affiliation with Florida Training Academy. Once approved, we will complete Sections Two and Three of your application.

✅ Effective April 1, 2025, the Instructor Affiliation Fee is $100 annually, due at the time of affiliation or each January. This fee supports administrative duties and technology platforms used by our training site.

✅ Monitoring and Mentoring

Each instructor candidate must be monitored teaching a class before receiving their Instructor card. This is typically conducted by Florida Training Academy or our authorized representatives.

✅ Monitoring ensures you’re proficient and confident teaching all applicable AHA courses.
✅ A second or third monitoring session may be required—this is not punitive, but part of our commitment to instructor excellence.

✅ Florida Training Academy Instructor Agreement (Babcock NE Florida Location)

Upon approval, instructors must sign an agreement that includes:

✅ Annual affiliation fee of $100
✅ Commitment to teaching at least two AHA courses per year
✅ Agreement to attend an annual Instructor Update session (advance notice will be given)
✅ Agreement to retain class records for 3 years
✅ Commitment to annual monitoring sessions

Instructor eCard Pricing (subject to change):

✅ $10.25 – BLS and Heartsaver K-12 eCards
✅ $27.75 – Heartsaver CPR/AED or CPR/AED & First Aid
✅ $27.75 – Heartsaver First Aid only
✅ $16.50 – ACLS and PALS eCards

✅ Post-Certification Requirements & Policies

✅ Join the AHA Instructor Network within 3–5 business days after your instructor course
✅ Direct all concerns or issues to Eunice Mathis and Florida Training Academy first
✅ Allow 24–48 business hours for non-urgent responses
✅ For urgent issues, use the personal contact information provided (text preferred) and follow up with an email including details

✅ Use of the AHA logo is prohibited in advertisements
✅ You must include this disclaimer on all promotional materials:
“The American Heart Association promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and First Aid and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA, and any fees charged for such a course do not represent income to the Association.”

✅ eCards must be paid in advance. Please order early.
✅ Allow up to 20 days for eCards to be added to your inventory
✅ Always keep eCards in stock and order at least 5 days before your scheduled classes
