AHA Instructor classes held at Florida Training Academy in Jacksonville, Florida.

                            
The American Heart Association BLS Instructor Course will allow the participant to teach all American Heart Association BLS and Heartsaver level certification classes. The American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR Instructor Course will allow the participant to teach all American Heart Association Heartsaver level (CPR, AED & First Aid) certification classes.

Prerequisites: 
  1. Email a copy of your current AHA Heartsaver CPR or Basic Life Support Provider card and current AHA CPR or BLS Instructor Card to emathis@fltraining.com.
  2. Complete the online American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR or Basic Life Support Instructor Essentials course and bring the certificate of completion. The online Instructor Essentials course can be purchased directly from our website as an optional item at checkout.  BLS Instructor Candidates should only complete the BLS Instructor Essentials Course. Heartsaver CPR Instructor Candidates should only complete the Heartsaver CPR Instructor Essentials course. Be sure to order the correct online course: either Heartsaver CPR (laypersons) -or- BLS for Healthcare Providers (Medical Professionals). Also, your certificate of completion must be printed out for your instructor. 
  3. Provide proof (printed rosters) from 4 AHA Heartsaver or BLS classes, taught over 2 years.
  4. Bring or purchase a current Instructor Manual and Student Manual in the appropriate discipline.
 
What to Expect During the Instructor Renewal Course:

-Renewing Instructors will be given the Heartsaver CPR or BLS Provider Test. A score of 90% or better must be obtained. Additionally, CPR skills proficiency must be demonstrated. Students who do not pass the written or skills test will not be able to continue in the course. Instructor Candidates will also be given an Instructor Exam. A score of 84% or better is required.

 
Once all steps are successfully completed, the participant's Instructor status will be renewed for another 2 years.

If you are requesting to become an affiliate instructor with Florida Training Academy, affiliation fees of $50 and successful monitoring are required before you will be authorized to order AHA certification cards. Florida Training Academy's affiliate instructors will also need to complete the Florida Training Academy Instructor Application.
 
 
Additional Fees: Annual affiliation fee of $50. This fee is charged to help with the costs of onboarding, mentoring, and the ongoing monitoring of AHA instructors.
 
Transfer Fees: If you are transferring from another TC, there is a $35 charge for the transfer process. We will also need rosters to show proof of the 4 classes that were taught within the last two years. We will also need to see your unexpired instructor card. If you cannot provide this information, you will need to take an initial instructor course.
 
Card Fees: BLS eCards are $10.25 each. All Heartsaver eCards are $27.75 each. 
 
How to order AHA eCards: Send an email to emathis@FLtraining.com indicating the type and quantity of eCards requested and an invoice will be submitted to you. Allow up to 3 -5 business days for eCards to be added into your Card Inventory (AHA Instructor Network). Instructors cannot order eCards directly from the manufacturer, as per the AHA Program Administration Manual (PAM). Also, instructors with outstanding affiliation fees will not be permitted to order eCards.
 
 
Florida Training Academy Instructor Course Refund/Cancellation Policy:
